Catherine vs. Nationwide It took a few attempts and requests under the Data Protection Act to extract the necessary information from Nationwide regarding the charges imposed by the building society on Catherine's account. Eventually, when the information had been compiled, a claim was issued and deemed to have been served on Nationwide on 1 December. Within less than a week, Nationwide had repaid the full amount including interest and court fee into Catherine's account and sent Bob a rather strange letter referring to recent correspondence with Charles Bacon (solicitor at the building society). We had never written to him! Still, however they dressed it up, it was a full capitulation very promptly. Return to full listing of cases. |
