Mark vs. Nationwide Mark had two accounts with Nationwide. After obtaining the information on charges through a Data Protection Act request, we submitted a claim totalling £2900 plus court fees. Within days, Nationwide sent Marc two letters similar in style to those sent in the Catherine vs. Nationwide case, i.e. referring to recent correspondence with Charles Bacon (solicitor at the building society). We had never written to him! The two letters referred separately to the two accounts. The amounts quoted in their letters did not tie up with the claim documentation but the total amount being repaid equalled the total amount claimed. So we were happy. See letters below.
