Cases summary

Patricia vs. Abbey fourth claim

Patricia was charged 385 in one day (on 29 April 2006) by Abbey. Abbey refused to refund any of this amount and so a claim was issued immediately to recoup this amount.

Abbey continued to charge Patricia at the end of each month for the next 4 months May through August and so further claims were issued each month against Abbey. The third claim which was for just 56, was settled quickly by Abbey - claim 2 was settled finally on 17 November. Claim 5 was paid by Abbey within a couple of weeks. Abbey failed to file a defence or to pay up on claim 4 within the allowed time period, and so default judgment was obtained against the bank for this claim: see below.
